SUPPORT GROUPSWhen you come into the group, you are no longer alone, but among friends who understand your problem as few others could.
Connecting with others who know first-hand what you’re going through can help reduce feelings of isolation, hopelessness, shame and fear. Staying motivated in recovery and maintaining your sobriety is much easier when you have others you can turn to for support to help you get through tough times.
The U-Turn Centre is a meeting space for a number of weekly support groups. When you come into a group, you are no longer alone, but among others who share your struggles and understand your problem as few others could. These meetings are a safe place for you to share your experience and challenges, receive hope and encouragement, learn about recovery, and share ways for coping.
I attend regular group meetings, I share my experience, and open up to others. I never knew I could do this, but with all the love and support from my U-Turn family, I am well on the way to becoming the person I have always wanted to be—clean, confident, and stronger than ever before.” — Julia
Meetings are lead by experienced facilitators who have personal lived experience with addiction and recovery. Keep an open mind and attend a few meetings. Feel free to share during the meeting.
