Welcome to the U-Turn Drop-In Centre. If you’re here because you are seeking help for yourself or a loved one, you are not alone. There are thousands just like you seeking a life beyond addiction. Whether you are struggling with alcohol, other drugs or gambling, you are taking an important step toward your recovery.

We can relate to what you’re going through because many of us at U-Turn have been where you are at one point in our lives. We know first-hand the struggles of addiction.

Starting on the road to recovery isn’t always easy, but, thankfully, you don’t have to walk that road alone.

U-Turn is a friendly place where no one passes judgment on others. I finally feel I’m not alone and that I belong. I met a couple of people who helped me out with some of my problems and who advocated for me on my behalf. I don’t know where I would be without U-Turn.” — Cindy

U-Turn is a safe, supportive place that will help you through the challenges of early recovery, revive your recovery during those inevitable tough times, and celebrate your hard-won recovery milestones!

We all need a little help sometimes. Drop in for a coffee and a friendly chat or to talk privately with a peer supporter. We’re here to help—every step of the way.

It can be hard knowing where to turn for help and how to access the services you need. We assist in navigating community resources and the mental health and addictions system, provide referrals to appropriate services, and can advocate on your behalf to improve your accessibility.

We offer private, confidential peer support. We can assist you with identifying your recovery goals and personal strengths, problem solving, developing relapse-prevention and recovery action plans, providing emotional support and encouragement, and linking you with other support services.

Support groups offer a safe place to share our struggles, strength and hope with others who are experiencing similar issues. We share information and resources, learn new ways to cope and solve problems, and strengthen our confidence about maintaining our sobriety. When you come into a U-Turn support group, you are no longer alone, but among friends who understand your problems as few others could.

We offer a number of weekly 12-step groups. Attendance is free and open to anyone who has a desire to stop drinking, using other drugs, or gambling. Meetings are anonymous and facilitated by experienced peer supporters who have lived experience with addiction and are in recovery.

Check out our meeting schedule below and consider joining us for a meeting. You’ll soon be making friends and feel very much a part of the group.

Empower yourself with knowledge to strengthen your recovery. We share recovery-oriented educational material and learning opportunities including a 12-Step study program, recovery-focused workshops and occasional guest speakers presenting on topics related to addiction recovery.

We provide tea, coffee, snacks, basic personal care items, computer and internet access, books, painting, TV, DVD player, and movies.

I attend regular group meetings, I share my experience, and open up to others. I never knew I could do this, but with all the love and support from my U-Turn family, I am well on the way to becoming the person I have always wanted to be—clean, confident, and stronger than ever before.” — Julia
