House rules

We are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all visitors to our drop-in centre. Here’s our house rules and guidelines:

Unruly behaviour will not be tolerated at the U-Turn Centre. Unruly behavior includes but is not necessarily limited to physical/verbal violence, bullying, intimidation and damaging of U-turn and other property. Unruly behavior also includes behavior which may put the integrity of the Centre at risk. Failing to adhere to this request will result in being asked to leave the Centre for a period of 24 hours. After three incidents of unruly behavior the individual will be asked not to return to the centre for a period of three weeks.

It is required that all individuals using the U-Turn Centre respect others who use the Centre. This will include respect of one’s privacy and property, and each individual’s race, sexual preference, religion, social or economic status, health issues, or any other personal attributes. This also applies to any form of contact which may occur outside the Centre with persons known to use the Centre.

The use/possession of alcohol/drugs or paraphernalia is not permitted at the U-Turn Centre or on its surrounding property. Anyone, including staff and volunteers, who have in their possession any of the previously-referenced substances will be asked to remove it from the premises. There is zero tolerance for drug dealing and illegal activities on the premises of the U-turn Centre. Individuals found to be engaging in such activity will be asked to leave the premises immediately, and the RCMP will be called to investigate.

To respect the privacy, confidentiality and anonymity of the people, staff and volunteers using the U-Turn Centre, no pictures or videos shall be taken inside the Centre.
